We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant for our Ascot WA Home on a Full Time basis. What you will do : - As a Lifestyle Assistant you’ll assist in developing, running and evaluating engaging lifestyle choices that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents living with dementia.
- Facilitating social, recreational, and therapeutic lifestyle choices to promote our residents physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being
- Creating resources for activities, event planning and organization
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, team members, volunteers and local community groups
- Documenting and maintaining accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Complete assessments, interventions and respond to clinical referrals
- Work with residents to set goals and promote meaningful activity
- Provide a clinical resource and advice to OT's in other locations
- Provide leadership to care staff to deliver activity and therapy practices
- Arranging and maintaining contractors and external services
- Communicate effectively with the care team to enhance the wellbeing of residents
- Contribute to quality improvements and compliance activities
- Comply with Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and safe work practices
- Complete documentation on LeeCare
- Conduct review of Lifestyle Resident of the Day (RoD)
What you'll bring : - Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle (Certificate III in Individual Support added bonus)
- Previous aged care experience as a Lifestyle Assistant or Coordinator
- Creativity and a passion for designing and delivering engaging, person-centred activities with a Commitment to continuous quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to be calm, consistent and confident in complex care environments
- Comprehensive understanding to ensure resident choices become part of the activities
- Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience and respect for residents living with dementia and their needs, together with emotional regulation skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage specifically with our MSU residents and their families
- Sound knowledge of, and commitment to upholding the Aged Care Standards
- Previous experience with LeeCare or similar software systems and sound computer skills
- Provide proof of NDIS clearance and the right to work in Australia.
