- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

We are seeking Personal Care Workers for our CraigCare Mornington Home on a Part Time basis.  You should be open to working AM or PM shifts any day of the week. As a Personal Care Worker, you will work under the guidance of our Registered Nurses, assisting our residents with their daily living activities to enhance their well-being and ensure care delivery is to the highest standard.

The Personal Care Worker role is part of an integrated team of professionals who work within an agreed clinical care framework to provide personalized care to our residents. This role is vital in ensuring we maintain high-quality care and high quality of life for our residents at all times.

Essential Requirements -

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act and Quality of Care Principles
• Reliability to work to a roster with set shifts and basic computer skills
• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.
• Certificate III in Aged Care /Individual Support (or currently working towards).
• Previous work experience within the aged care sector is preferred but not essential.
• You would also need to have a current NDIS clearance, proof of Rights to Work, and a current immunization certificate (including influenza and vaccination against COVID-19, including booster).

Key Responsibilities -

• Support residents in living the life they choose by allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the overall quality of life of the residents (physical, emotional and lifestyle interests).
• Implement clinical and care interventions delegated by the Registered Nurses, and as documented in the resident's care plan.
• Assist residents with their personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging their independence.
• Ability to prioritize workloads effectively and deliver care with decency and compassion.
• Kindness and patience with residents are essential, as is respect for their individual needs. You must also respect their privacy, dignity, choice, and self-esteem.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.

• Develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans in collaboration with the care team

• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff
• Provide care for residents with Dementia and Palliative care needs

About the role:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to join us at our home at Ascot Waters. This position is part-time requiring night supervision, and will contribute and deliver to the leadership and management of clinical care and service delivery, to ensure desired care outcomes are achieved for our residents. This role will be instrumental in ensuring our residents are receiving best practice person centered care.

What You Will Do:

• Deliver and provide person-centered clinical care
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Aged Care standards, funding and policy
• Show leadership ability to be independent and support the leadership team
• Deliver on Clinical Governance reporting and requirements
• Improve and adhere to quality systems and processes
• Ensure the Home is compliant with all standards as mandated by ACSQC

What You Will Bring:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Clinical Management role in Aged Care
• Exceptional leadership ability to support the team
• Thorough understanding of aged care standards and accreditation requirements
• Working knowledge and understanding of AN-ACC
• Previous experience working in a memory support unit (desirable)

What does Volunteering Involve?

Volunteering even a small amount of time makes life much brighter for both you and the people you’ll get to know. There are several ways you can volunteer at Craigcare -

• Activity Buddy - This could include taking part in our home activities such as our Men’s Shed, walking groups, board games, knitting groups, reading, reminiscence chats, gardening, baking, or playing a musical instrument,
• 1:1 Buddy - This could be as simple as coming in for a regular chat and a cuppa with one of our residents.
• Spiritual Support Buddy - Providing emotional and spiritual support to our residents and their families.
• Weekly outing bus driver – This would involve driving our residents to local community destinations and enjoying the community sites and activities on offer together

Essential Requirements:

• NDIS for volunteers (or willingness to obtain)

Our wonderful volunteers are cherished by our residents, families and staff, and we make sure we celebrate all they do. Apart from enriching the lives of our residents, as a CraigCare volunteer you are rewarded in so many other ways such as:

• Developing your skills, gain experience and explore new opportunities.

What does Volunteering Involve?

Volunteering even a small amount of time makes life much brighter for both you and the people you’ll get to know. There are several ways you can volunteer at Craigcare -

• Activity Buddy - This could include taking part in our home activities such as our Men’s Shed, walking groups, board games, knitting groups, reading, reminiscence chats, gardening, baking, or playing a musical instrument,
• 1:1 Buddy - This could be as simple as coming in for a regular chat and a cuppa with one of our residents.
• Spiritual Support Buddy - Providing emotional and spiritual support to our residents and their families.
• Weekly outing bus driver – This would involve driving our residents to local community destinations and enjoying the community sites and activities on offer together

Essential Requirements:

• NDIS for volunteers (or willingness to obtain)
• Police check (in case you don't have NDIS Clearance for volunteers)
